These Days

“As seen here,”

This week marks week 2 at Rochester Woman Magazine. While I was enjoying assembling home-made zines and scouring Indeed.com for my future (and unrelated futures like zoo keepers), I am glad that now I have bosses and assignments. It’s more motivating than what my boredom inspires. Although, boredom has been the catalyst for many crafternoons and if not for those we would be without Crafternoons/ mix  n’ match 1-3 and that would be a tragedy for my bedroom wall. As seen here, I am going to try to blog more words. Cue story of incentive: One morning I woke up very very early and drove very far to drop off a car at a garage, and on the way back I heard a radio interview with a nifty editor of a fancy magazine. She suggested that step one for aspiring magazine journalists is to create a blog and write. I thought to take that advice because I wanted there to be a better reason for me being up so early than a bad engine. So, I took it to heart and here is step one—write in a blog. Before the blog writes in you. No, the blog won’t write in you. But the motivation will slow down and stop and you’ll be stuck cafternoonin morning, day and night. And crafternoons should be strictly a noon-ish thing, if anything. So, cheers to being happy about my job Monday through Friday and enjoying crafts, naps, and other craps Saturday through Sunday. And here’s to the beginning of step one!
